To help non-technical founders build great digital products
To find product / market fit, uniqueness and viability for your idea
To plan, design and prototype your product idea before development
If you have an idea that deserves to be a product, you have come to the right place. RockPaperScissors is a collaborative, 3-step toolbox that helps non-technical founders build great mobile apps and web platforms.
The evolution from an idea on a napkin to a digital product that solves real world problems requires a good mix of consideration, creativity and planning. In that order. We have learned that this journey is best broken up into 3 steps: Rock, Paper & Scissors. There are logical breaks after each of these stages that give us an opportunity to reflect. Even great ideas are fragile, but we have to tools to help you protect and strengthen them.
We use a mix of borrowed and bespoke strategic, design and prototyping tools to help define and strengthen your idea. We ask difficult questions, pose simple solutions and plan the necessary steps for your journey. We provide you with the information and materials you need to take your product to the world.
You are the owner/founder/entrepreneur and we are the product specialists. Together we have the broad range of skills and knowledge needed to create a great product. We’ll define clear and complimentary roles from the outset. We act as a technical co-founder until you don’t need us anymore. When that time comes, you’ll be ready to house your own team.
In Rock, we concentrate on the problem you’re trying to solve more that the idea you have. We combine your insight with our knowledge of what is technically possible to form the foundation of a product brief.
We learn about the market and how a technical product can help them solve a real problem. We look at what skills and information are currently in place, and what gaps need to be filled.
In Paper, we bring your idea to life. We craft how people will use your product to solve a particular problem, and we use what we know about the market to design a product and an experience that appeals to them.
For the first time you will be able to visualize your product through branding, colors, icons and screen designs. Most importantly, we define how the product works and why it matters.
In Scissors, we plan how your product goes from being a robust concept to being in the hands and hearts of your customers. By now we have a clear idea of how long it will take to build and how much an MVP will cost.
A prototype at this stage is often useful for further validation or to help raise money, but not always necessary. Either way, by now you are equipped with everything you need for your product to go into development.
